Competent Adviser

 

Competent Adviser is the name given to the project described below based on the formal term used to refer to a financial adviser who satisfies the regulatory requirements for general and product knowledge. The project aim is to develop an online tool that enables the ongoing competency level of the financial advisers.

The challenge was to create a tool that will not be restricted to the 'hated' testing alone but will offer a highly professional and comprehensive research and reference tool which can be tapped into on a daily basis by the financial advisers.

A web enabled tool was devised. It is divided to three clear sections (Zones). Learning Zone - the knowledgebase and reference tool; Test Zone - the section where advisers can take exams and tests and monitor their own progress; Personal Zone - the section for advisers to keep their CPD, Favourites, To Do lists, saved searches etc.

For the different responsibilities, a four-tier system was devised, comprising of Global Administrators, Company Administrators, Supervisors and advisers, each with their own needs and responsibilities.
